The Smartroof Room in Roof system enabled Persimmon Homes to embrace new and faster methods of construction and build with stringent quality control measures at Wellington Gate, an exclusive residential development near Wantage, Oxfordshire.

The development features three, four and five bedroom homes, with the four-bedroom townhouses designed as a curved crescent, which used the Smartroof Panelised Room in Roof System.

The curved design of the townhouses meant that each plot was offset by approximately 6°, making the rear approximately 1.7m wider than the front.

The Smartroof system was expertly engineered to accommodate the curved terrace, a feature that would have presented significant technical and time challenges using traditional onsite construction methods.

Manufactured with millimetre precision, the room-in-roof systems were delivered to the Wantage site, craned into position and installed efficiently by the Smartroof team. This approach reduced installation time by approximately four weeks.
