When Bloor Homes committed to building sustainable homes at Evesham Gate, Smartroof’s Panelised Room in Roof System proved to be an ideal choice.

The housebuilder specified solutions that would maximise airtightness, optimise insulation and eliminate thermal bridging. The cost effective, prefabricated insulated Smartroof solution met that brief.

Smartroof was asked to supply our offsite manufactured modular roof system for 56 three- and four-bedroom Makenzie, Medina and Morris homes, which were constructed as part of the initial first phase of the 460-home development.

A key driver of the development was to deliver energy-efficient homes with a fabric first design, considering the latest changes to Building Regulations Part L. Our solution not only enabled the developer to use a smaller footprint by creating rooms in roofs, thus  aximising sellable space, it also ensured consistent thermal performance.

Our Smartroof systems comprise prefabricated panels that incorporate insulation, dormers, spandrels, roof windows and roofline. The beauty of offsite manufacture is that the process eliminates voids or cold spots and offers design flexibility because insulation levels can be upgraded to meet requirements. Once they are constructed, they are delivered to site and craned into place.

Reducing waste and build time, and safer to install: Smartroof is the smart choice
