The Arkall Farm development stands as a testament to Smartroof’s technical expertise and its ability to overcome even the most complex construction challenges.

The Davidson Homes development in Tamworth, Staffordshire, features two, three, four and five bedroom homes, but the developer recognised it needed an innovative roofing system that would seamlessly integrate with the architecture.

The innovative Smartroof engineering team worked closely with the housebuilder’s technical and site team, presenting the case for Smartroof’s suitability for the project and demonstrating how the Panelised Room in Roof System would be the ideal solution for the centrepiece row of town houses.

The curvature of the row presented a significant challenge. The Smartroof design and technical team designed a bespoke roof structure, which required millimetre precision and co-ordination, including tailored detailing where the varying ridge lines joined.

Another key architectural feature was a flat-over-garage carport area leading to the car park. To accommodate this design, the Smartroof team advised completing the gable brickwork prior to roof installation, ensuring seamless integration of the Smartroof system.

Crucial to the success of this complex scheme was maintaining close contact with the installation team, offering advice and support throughout.
