When Lee Jenkins was designing his self-build home  in the seaside resort of Borth, Wales, he was unsure if his vision was possible. This beautiful home stands prominently on the cliff overlooking a stretch of beach, with a 13.7m curved span panoramic window on the upper floor, providing fabulous views.

Lee was initially advised that his design was unachievable due to the complexity of the lintel requirements. However, after consulting Keystone Lintels, the company’s technical team, drawing on over 25 years of expertise, developed a bespoke structural steel lintel capable of accommodating the curved form and challenging loading conditions.

The Keystone Lintels team visited the site to get exact measurements and designed and manufactured the Special Bow Lintel to create the breath-taking curved design, complementing the Welsh coast.

I was unsure if the vision I had for this project was even possible, but Keystone’s team of engineers offered a creative and effective solution, ensuring an incredibly personalised touch to the building.
