Passivhaus timber frame wall
Larsen Panel System
The Passiv Innovations design, developed by the expert team at Timber Innovations, was recognised for its unique qualities and building solutions.
It was first used it in the new Museum of Speed and Passivhaus Hotel at Pendine Sands, Carmarthenshire, a tourist attraction where visitors can see Babs, the car that set the land-speed record.
Timber Innovations manufactured and supplied an offsite manufactured timber frame wall and roof panel system that uses twin or ‘Larsen’ studs. The natural cellulose insulation allows buildings to breathe and improves indoor air quality while eliminating the potential for interstitial condensation in the fabric of the building.
This project was given ‘Special Recognition’ at the Constructing Excellence Wales Awards in 2020 during the Passivhaus design phase of the project for the use of the Larsen Panel System.
