Originally built in 1897 for Rijkspostspaarbank, the national saving bank, it housed the Sweelinck Conservatorium from the early 1980s until 2008.

When the music schools left, it was, over the following three years, transformed into a luxury hotel, thanks to the vision of architect and designer Piero Lissoni.

Keylite hit the right notes when it was specified to design and supply a bespoke package of roof window units. Because each roof window unit was in a non-standard size, ranging from 660mm x 1500mm to 780mm x 2000mm, the technical team worked in harmony with the construction professionals to ensure each element was the perfect fit.

With a high specification throughout the build, Keylite was specified to trim the windows with a bespoke bronze glazing system. Not only was this a beautiful aesthetic touch, it also helped to absorb sound – ideal in a city centre location.
