Opportunity:
We are currently recruiting for an Operations Director, based in Swadlincote, who will be responsible for management of the UK operation. The successful candidate must have significant experience in a senior management role, within a timber frame/timber engineering/ modular building environment.
With a focus on manufacturing excellence, increased production volumes, profit enhancement and world class customer service Operations Director will be responsible for operational growth, whilst driving Quality, Service and Safety standards.
Key Objectives of Operations Director
- To control all aspects of Operations in smartroof, including manufacturing, production, engineering, and administrative support functions.
- Take ultimate responsibility for the quality of products and service, in line with expected and agreed standards.
- Identify and implement appropriate manufacturing techniques (such as 5S, TPM, and other lean manufacturing practices) for improving productivity, quality, safety and costs.
- Ensure the timely and efficient implementation of product innovations as agreed with R&D Department
- Ensure strict compliance with the Quality Management System (ISO9001), Health & Safety Management Systems (ISO18001) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001) and relevant certifications in all sites.
- Ensure process procedures are in place and current for all operational processes in conformance with ISO, CE, Eurocodes and BBA standards.
- Manage team performance through appraisals, PDP’s, training etc. in line with Company policy and procedures.
- Ensure internal and external customer relations are maintained through effective communication.
- Ensure all administrative, reporting and recording procedures are maintained and developed where necessary.
- Ensure that logistics to customers and across all sites is cost effective and efficient.
Skills & Experience:
- Degree educated, or equivalent
- Strong commercial acumen and a proven track record in operating at a strategic level
- Excellent people management, development abilities and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to travel throughout the UK
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Works independently, decisive, strong judgement, problem solver
