Operations Manager

Role Profile:

The role is based in the UK headquarters in Swadlincote, South Derbyshire.  The Operations Manager will report to the Operations Director and will be a key member of the management team.

This person will need to have strong abilities in leadership, labour organisation and deploying advanced manufacturing production techniques.  They will also be required to reach productivity targets and develop the production team to meet agreed business objectives.

Job Description:

General Objective of the Operations Manager:

  • Run an efficient and effective production unit manufacturing high quality products in a safe manner to deliver the required levels of operational performance.

Specific Objectives of the Operations Manager:

  •    Identify and implement methods of improving productivity, quality, safety and costs
  •    Develop and commission new technologies required in order to meet demands of business evolution
  •    Promote best practice in order to meet the manufacturing objective
  •    Ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Experience as an Operations Manager
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office – word, excel, email & internet and ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Experience of working as part of the management team
  • Good organisational and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to manage projects, set priorities and identify and address problems
  • Time Management skills having the ability to meet targets and stay within budget
  • Results orientated, ambitious and determined
  • Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity.
