smartroof has pioneered the market for insulated roof panels over the last 10 years. smartroof design and supply a complete package to leading national house builders and is well respected in its field. Due to continued growth and development we require a Production and Material Controller to work alongside our existing team.
Position Overview:
The potential employee will primarily be responsible for the coordination of production of smartroof panels and the quality of product manufactured along with control of raw material ordering and stock. The successful candidate will be based in our premises in Swadlincote, South Derbyshire.
Job Description:
- To supervise the daily production of smartroof.
- Ensure that the highest quality of product is manufactured.
- Ensure that procedures are in place for production, material supply, quality and health and safety.
- Ensure that document control is in place and work towards PEFC accreditation.
- Ensure that we have good cost effective suppliers of raw material.
- Use lean manufacturing principles to continuously improve all areas of manufacture and supply.
Job skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role is required
- Experience of ISO quality procedures
- A comprehensive understanding of Health & Safety practices
- Self-motivated and organized
- Can comfortably work unsupervised alone and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate and explain to others
- Focused on customer service
- Numeracy & literacy skills
- Computer literate – experience with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Clean driving license
- Experience in Joinery/Carpentry preferred but not essential
