The Problem: Competing Demands at the Slab Edge

The slab edge packs structural, fire safety and weather-management components into one narrow zone, where each part affects how the others perform.

When these components are specified separately, they are designed one after another, quoted independently and often supplied by different manufacturers. That leaves architects and contractors to reconcile the interfaces, manage congestion and confirm that everything actually fits together. It also creates risk at Building Safety Act Gateways.

When masonry support, cavity trays, cavity tray lintels, wall ties, fire barriers and soffit systems come from separate suppliers, submissions often arrive as several drawings, each covering only one part of the interface. Incompatible details and unclear responsibilities can then lead to queries and delays.
